Located just one block from Pantages Hotel in downtown Toronto, St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica is one of the oldest churches in the city, and one of Ontario’s official heritage buildings.

Completed in the mid-1800s, its stunning Gothic Revival-style architecture and spiritual significance attract visitors from around the world.

The Cathedral hosts masses every day of the week as well as various events, and you can check out their livestream to watch in real-time.

Having undergone intensive restorations over the years, there is no shortage of incredible architecture to appreciate. It also boasts an Opus 3907, a $2-million pneumatic pipe organ built by Casavant Frères of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, which replaced the older water pump-style organ during the last set of renovations.

One lesser-known fact is that the stained glass piece on the Eastern side of the building was created by Étienne Thevenot – the same artist who created stained glass for the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

Trip Advisor’s visitor rating gives it 4.5/5 stars, and we know you won’t want to miss out on seeing St. Michael’s breathtaking artwork, history and design.
